Painting

Over the last week and a half we have been sanding and painting. There is only one word for all the sanding: Brutal!
These pictures show the barrier coat going on and taping after primer (two coats) have been applied to the whole deck. The areas that are taped off are the non non-skid areas (bulwarks and cabin trunk etc)
We had a problem with blushing with the first topcoat - apparently we painted too late in the day and dew caused the problem.

Sooooo....sand it off and try again!

Heh, I presume you are painting LPU? AwlGrip? Sterling?

Spray? Roll/tip?

Took us six coats to roll/tip Sterling just right during a VERY warm (but unseasonably humid) August weekn in Seattle. Yes, the latter side of the boat would blush more the early side.

Secret: thin the paint as you go. Don't thin it all in one shot.

Yup - LPU....Interlux perfection.
The second coat failed as well...too hot and left brush strokes.
Finally we put the tent back over and sprayed the perfection (used a different primer) It came out pretty good.
Tomorrow we spray the topsides...pray for no wind!

Thinner not primer! I can't think straight after worrying about wind temperature and humidity for 3 weeks
